Please join Texas Rose and SwingOut for a really fun LGBTQ fundraiser! Come join us and SHAKE YOUR GROOVE THING on February 25, 2023.
We'll be dancing 2-steps, West Coast Swing, East Coast Swing, Waltz and Line Dances. Maybe some Tango and Salsa as well ;)
We've added lessons--Doors open at 6, lessons begin at 6:30 and are included with the price of admission. Shin Aoki will teach beginners to West Coast Swing, Tim Kenny will teach intermediate WCS and Rob Ollander-Krane will teach beginner-friendly SF Style 2-Step!
Many of you attended I WILL SURVIVE in 2020 ... it was a blast! We're planning for a similar event as a wonderful reunion of our diverse dance communities.
Lake Merritt Dance has a fundraising goal of $30,000 for 2023. We can only stay open for dancing with community support - YOUR support.

ABOUT Lake Merritt Dance: We're the non-profit that does the behind the scenes work to keep the Lake Merritt Veterans Hall open and available for dance programs. We're in start-up mode again as we reopen and we need your support to keep the facility available for our community dance programs.
COVID and HEALTH policy:
It is our intention to keep our community as safe as possible while dancing. Here are our health policies:
A well-fitting KN95 / N95 / KF94 mask (with no vent) covering your nose and mouth is required in the building, except in the lounge. (The lounge is a separate room where we will have snacks and drinks. Masks are optional in the lounge.)
We will not be checking vaccination status.
Also you agree:
-If you're sick on the day of the event, you won't attend. Contact us if you need a refund.
-If you have had COVID recently, please test yourself and ensure you are testing negative.
-If you are feeling fine day of the event, but you have recently been ill or have been in close contact with someone who had COVID in the last ten days, please take a Covid test on the day of the event. Don't attend if your result is positive.
NOTE: Air quality in our ballroom is excellent. The HVAC system filters the air. We test for Co2; there are very low levels of Co2 - almost as good as being outside.
