❤️Let's dance again tomorrow! You are very much invited and I am very much inspired to curate the set and get everyone moving and flowing and into the waves of rhythm. I got to Dance TWO times with Ajay Gupta of 5Rhythms this week! Thanks to the work of dancer and guide, Teresa Reid.
AND I danced all last weekend at TTATC. so let's keep the good feels going, and the community heart beating in sync with the feet stomping!
Conscious dance party alert. Sunday morning dance party is ON! Come shake off your week, shake your bones to the beats & maybe find yourself lost in the rhythm waves! The beats and sound that can take you through an emotional landscape and you might find yourself in a conscious moving meditation. But no need to take yourself too seriously. This is PLAY! NO experience with dance necessary.
I am DJ Koreen this week...and am a conscious dance enthusiast and love putting together real waves of rhythm that touch the soul.
?From disco house beats, to FUNK!
From classic piano grooves that get you in touch with your inner modern dancer, to tribal bass & drum beats from around the world that have you pounding your feet and feeling fierce! AND then to STILLNESS. mmm. ??? ??♀️??
No need to follow specific steps, abandon yourself to the rhythm and move freely as the music takes you, maybe leading to states of trance and a feeling of ecstasy. Bliss!!! Dancers are described as feeling connected to others, and to their own emotions. The dance serves as a form of meditation, helping people to cope with stress and to attain serenity.
The practice of the 5Rhythms is said to put the body in motion in order to still the mind. The five rhythms (in order) are Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness.[uspto 1] The 5Rhythms, when danced in sequence, are known as a "Wave." A typical Wave takes about an hour to dance.
I have curated and put together 2 "waves" of music for our community to shake their bones to! Lets do this.
Come anytime, leave anytime. But it is recommended to come earlier for the full experience.
The only rules:
1) Be present.
2) NO PHONES. NO CAMERAS in the dance area.
3) Be embodied. NO TALKING on the dance floor. Bring the convos out to the hall.
4) BE CONSENSUAL. LISTEN FOR A YES. RESPECT A NO when dancing close with others.
5) BE HERE. NO OUTSIDE SHOES.
Bare feet is the way to be. ...Or indoor shoes to protect the floors.
6) BE FREE. DANCE HOW YOU WANT. NO JUDGEMENT.
..When we step on the dance floor, we include our whole selves.
⭐️$5-$10 suggested donation, cash only at the door.
?Please be vaccinated. These are the rules of tapestry and we need your card or proof of vaccination at the door. Thank you. Some in our community are vulnerable and we respect that and the changing rules around mask tapestry provides. Honestly I love dancing in a mask. It adds an element of privacy if I am laughing or crying, moving emotions is a part of my dance! And I dance hard!
(Your weekly Sunday Dance party at Tapestry! This is a Dance Church spin off.... a Sunday morning dance party! Dance Church & Shake those Bones are alternating weeks, but are similar events.)
