Autumn Term – Part 1: As You Like It
Step into the forest of Arden with us this autumn, where disguises, dances, and delightful chaos await! Shake It is a fun, informal, and movement-based class that brings Shakespeare’s stories to life through dance, stagecraft, and ensemble play.
Each week we’ll explore a new aspect of As You Like It — from witty wordplay and shifting identities to the pulse of love, rivalry, and revelry. Using a mix of dance styles, physical theatre, and script-inspired movement, we’ll discover how Shakespeare’s worlds can leap off the page and onto the floor.
Expect:
🎭 Warm-ups that wake up body and voice
💃 Movement sequences inspired by Shakespearean themes
📝 Light script work & stagecraft to spark character and story
🤝 A supportive, collaborative space — no experience required!
Whether you’re a seasoned performer, a Shakespeare fan, or just curious to try something new, this class is all about play, discovery, and a dash of theatrical mischief.
