Paramount Summer Classic Film Series Presents
Shadow of a Doubt
State Theatre
Thursday, July 9, 2026
Doors: 6:30pm
Show: 7:30pm
(1943, 108min/b&w, DCP) Teresa Wright, Joseph Cotten, and Macdonald Carey. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock.
As good as any film Hitchcock ever made (in fact he declared it his personal favorite of all his movies), this unsettling masterpiece about a teenage girl who suspects her beloved uncle may be a wanted serial murderer is not seen nearly as often as some of his other work. It would be a shame to miss this master class in dread, featuring a perfectly balanced performance from Joseph Cotten as Uncle Charlie.
