In the shadow of rising far-right movements and the resurgence of fascism, we stand at a critical crossroads. The time to respond, resist, and reclaim our future is now. Shades of Purple: Decolonizing Feminism is more than just a conference—it is a call to radical engagement, an invitation to grasp the roots of our struggles, and a space to envision a just world through collective action.
As neo-fascist and conservative reactionary forces consolidate around nationalist, neo-imperialist, anti-migrant, anti-women's rights, and anti-LGBTQ+ agendas, we call for an intersectional alliance to resist. We aim to build a decolonial, anti-racist feminist project that not only stands against oppression but also serves as a foundation for solidarity, resistance, and hope.
Join us as we gather our collective imagination to:
- Reclaim narratives from past struggles
- Forge unwavering solidarity with women worldwide
- Challenge the hegemony of liberal and civilizational feminism
- Center the voices and struggles of racialized, migrant women, and women from the Global South
This is not about adding new waves to feminism—it is about unearthing the deeply intertwined axes of oppression and rediscovering the historical roots of our fight for liberation.
What Happens When Feminism Abandons Collective Radical Change?
This conference brings together collectives, activists, thinkers, and creatives from diverse backgrounds to:
- Share knowledge and ideas
- Weave networks of solidarity
- Initiate the decolonizing process of feminism in the Czech context and beyond
We reject the commodified, liberal discourse surrounding International Women's Day that prioritizes individual freedoms over collective emancipation. Instead, we offer a space to build a common dream: feminist, anti-racist, decolonial, anti-capitalist, and ecological.
Formats of Participation: This conference is anti-academic. We embrace diverse forms of knowledge production and resistance, including but not limited to:
