Asante Haughton (he/him) is a mental health professional, speaker, activist, and writer. His poems, essays, and fiction explore difficult and hidden truths of the human experience, seeking to encourage compassion for the complicatedness of human emotion and behaviour. He has previously published works in AfriCANthology (www.africanthology.ca/), a collection of writing from Black Canadian authors. Asante is currently working on an autobiography entitled, "I'm Not Supposed To Be Here". When he's not writing, Asante is curating lived experience narratives as the Manager of Storytelling at Unsinkable, an organization that amplifies stories to support folks on their recovery journeys.
