In this program you will be introduced to some masterpieces from the history of the classical guitar. Izhar shows three special guitars: the baroque guitar, the early romantic guitar and the Spanish classical guitar. Every guitar and style has its own story. For example, the Italian baroque guitarist Francesco Corbetta played for the Sun King Louis the XIV, and Francesco Molino brought Italian opera to the Paris salons in the early 19th century. There was a real guitaromania in Paris at the beginning of the 19th century. There is a special story from ancient Greece, narrated by Lowell Dykstra. And of course, a real guitar program cannot miss the Spanish repertoire, with works by Albรฉniz and Tรกrrega.
