SFG—“G” for girya, or kettlebell—is StrongFirst’s flagship certification.

While strength is the focus of our school at large, SFG pursues broader “extreme fitness” and resilience with strength at its foundation. Like every StrongFirst instructor certification—kettlebell, barbell, bodyweight—SFG strongly stands on its own—while all perfectly fit together into a system.

Instructor candidates will test their spirit in grueling workouts, pass strength tests, and demonstrate their teaching ability. Over the 3-day event, they build bonds through a shared challenge and often became friends for life.

STRONGFIRST CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS: Take advantage of the Unified Recertification and renew your current instructor credentials—included with your registration. Testing will be completed during the weekend.

Our Unified Recertification is also the path towards achieving our highest instructor designation: the StrongFirst Certified Elite Instructor. Once you have achieved all four StrongFirst certifications, you will have earned the StrongFirst Elite title and the three-year certification time frame it provides (in addition to all the other benefits of certification).

ATTEMPT THE BEAST TAMER/IRON MAIDEN CHALLENGE

The three events are a strict military press, a strict tactical pullup, and a pistol. Men lift a 48kg kettlebell to become Beast Tamers. Women earn their Iron Maiden title with a 24kg kettlebell.

Many strong people are able to complete one of the events. Some can do two. But the ability to do all three is rare, as the three lifts favor different body types. A man or woman who has completed the challenge is one dangerous individual.
