SFA Gardens Fruit Research Field Day 2026

Join SFA Gardens for the 2026 Fruit Research Field Day beginning at 8:30 A.M. with coffee and donuts at the Brundrett Conservation Education Building, 2900 Raguet Street in Nacogdoches. Dr. David Creech, director of SFA Gardens, will present “The SFA Gardens’ Fruit Research Program,” and Dr. Tim Hartmann, assistant professor and extension specialist with Texas A&M University Department of Horticultural Sciences, will present “What's on the Horizon for Fruit Growing in Texas.” Participants will then tour the blueberry research plot and the greenhouse/nursery facilities at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center. After a lunch break, participants will load up in vans to visit the fruit research plots featuring muscadines, kiwis, figs, feijoas, persimmons, and more in the SFA Gardens. Cost is $30 per person. Purchase tickets in advance from the SFA Gardens Online Store (link in the comments!) . Lunch is not included.
