Join us for the next table read performance in our San Francisco-Northern California Local Conservatory Screenplay Reading Series: The It, The I, and the Over I - by Samuel Ademola
Synopsis: On a long-overdue trip back to California, Paul survives a near-fatal car crash—only to awaken in a vivid dream version of San Francisco with his girlfriend, Ocienne. Guided by “The I” (his conscience) and haunted by “The It” (his primal self), Paul learns he’s in a coma and must resolve deep-seated issues to “move on.”
Through surreal journeys into his past, we witness the trauma of his mother’s murder, a supernatural bond with teenage love Sarah, and his strained relationship with his troubled brother, Solomon. As years pass, Paul builds a new life and family, but the crash returns him to the coma realm, where Sarah warns he has three days to choose between waking and staying.
Hesitation traps him in the dream world—alone, without his Guide—and forces him to confront his inner demons once and for all. The question remains: can Paul find a way out, or will he remain lost in his own mind forever?
About the Writer:

His short film, The Accent, won best comedy short at the Carmarthen Bay Film Festival. He has appeared in films at Sundance, Hulu, USA Network, and theatrical release. He is an active performer in the San Francisco Bay Area theatre circuit.
