SF: Dungeon Monitor Training

Interested in becoming a Dungeon Monitor? Play Parties are restarting and there's a huge shortage of trained DM's. We need responsible folx to be our first line of defense against harm ... both physical and emotional as we work to keep everyone safer while at play!

Join us for a 90 Minute workshop where we'll review the basics of DM'ing and walk through several scenarios based on Stefanos and Shay's famous DM Scenario course. After this class you may decide DMing isn’t for you and that’s ok! This class will give you new tools to help make your play more enjoyable and safer for you and your partners.

Those completing this class, three shadow shifts, and a final review will be eligible for listing in our “Active DM List” that we plan to share with interested venues looking for DMs. After class you will receive information on applying for shadow shifts at Dark Odyssey: Surrender and After Hours Events.

Presenters:

FlamingJune (she/her) has been a mentor, teacher, discussion group facilitator, and play party producer and host in the BDSM community for over 20 years. She is the Lead Play Space Monitor for DO: Surrender and Summer Camp and comes to us with many years of consent work in sex positive communities.

EmpathyDom (he/him) has been in the community for 20+ years. In that time, he has been a mentor, an avid volunteer, a DM, and a fundraising organizer.

TICKETING:

$15 - $35 in advance through eventbrite.

We offer a sliding scale, so that cost is not a barrier to attendance.

The regular ticket is $25. This is what most people should pay.

The $15 ticket is offered for those for whom the $25 ticket would be a barrier to participation. If $25 is too much, we take your word for it! Just pay $15.

Have a great salary? Feeling generous? Paying at the $35 level allows us to make the discounted ticketing available to others who need it. :)

The class will be taught out of the Wicked Grounds Annex. While the space is ADA friendly once upstairs, stairs at the front door are the only means of ingress and egress to the space.
