Live Band Night is happening at Bal Haus on May 2! ✨🎺
Get ready — The Curiosities Jazz Band is rolling in for our first live band night of 2026, bringing a full evening of joyful, hard-swinging sounds straight from the golden era of jazz.
This swinging jazz quartet brings the music of the 1920s, ’30s, and ’40s to life, delivering timeless grooves that are irresistible to dancers and listeners alike. Led by longtime swing dancer and guitarist Nirav Sanghani, the band leans into a classic repertoire built for the dance floor.
For this special night, you’ll hear an all-star lineup of Bay Area musicians:
Nirav Sanghani – guitar
Ryan Calloway – clarinet & alto sax
Sean Krazit – tenor sax
Marceline Keene – bass
Together, they create a rich, vibrant sound — soaring reeds, a driving rhythm section, and that unmistakable swing that pulls you onto the dance floor before you even realize it. Don’t miss this one! 💃🕺
$20 entrance fee. No partner needed. Beginners are welcome! Additionally, we offer a one-on-one mini crash course starting at 8:00 pm. $7 gets you a 20-minute private session with a top-notch Balboa instructor. You can work on any topic from fundamentals to styling. First come, first served. (Please come sign up when the doors open at 7:50pm)
Full bar available (cash only). Treat yourself to a delicious drink. There's ample street parking but please do not leave valuables in your car! Have other plans and coming by late? No problem! Admission is half off after 11:00pm.
