About this Event

JOIN US for "Sexual Health Demystified: Empowering Through Knowledge" - an enlightening and empowering workshop tailored specifically for BAME (black, Asian and minority ethnic) Muslim women in and around Birmingham!

Are you seeking a safe, respectful space to learn about sexual health while honouring your faith and cultural values? Look no further! This ground breaking workshop, successfully piloted in London by Hajer , is now coming to her hometown of Birmingham as part of her fellowship with FORWARD.

FORWARD (Foundation for Women's Health Research and Development) is a leading African women-led organization working to end violence against women and girls. This workshop is made possible through Hajer's participation in the TuWezeshe fellowship program, a feminist leadership initiative funded by FORWARD that aims to empower young African women and inspire collective action against gender-based violence.

Led by Hajer, a highly experienced Relationship and Sex Educator with a Master's in Public Health, this workshop lives up to its title by offering a unique opportunity to explore a topic often considered by many communities as taboo and unapproachable until marriage. "Sexual Health Demystified" aims to provide participants opportunities to:

· Gain comprehensive knowledge about sexual health

· Dispel myths and misconceptions surrounding sexual well-being

· Develop essential communication skills for discussing sensitive topics

· Learn about their rights, consent, and healthy relationships

· Explore family planning methods

· Build confidence to advocate for oneself in healthcare settings

All while exploring how these topics align with your Islamic faith.

This isn't just a lecture – it's an interactive experience where you'll meet like-minded women, engage in meaningful discussions, and participate in relaxing activities. Delicious food and refreshments will be provided to keep you energized throughout the day.

Hajer's expertise in creating safe, informative spaces for young Muslims to explore their faith while building knowledge on Relationships and Sex Health Education (RSHE) topics ensures that this workshop will be both enlightening and culturally sensitive.

Don't miss this chance to invest in your health, deepen your understanding of Islamic teachings, and connect with your community. Spaces are limited, so register now for this transformative experience!

Empower yourself with knowledge, embrace your well-being, and join us in this journey of growth and understanding. Your health matters, and so does your faith – let's explore them together in Hajer's hometown of Birmingham!
