Sexual Health & PrEP Linkage
Pathways of Patience is a trauma-informed, accessibility-centered workshop series designed to gently support LGBTQ+ community members in navigating complex systems of care. While this space is open to all LGBTQ+ people, it is intentionally designed with sensitivity to the lived experiences of individuals who are disabled, Black, Indigenous, people of color, living with chronic illness, and those who are system-impacted or financially limited. The series acknowledges that many community members feel excluded, overwhelmed, or harmed by traditional systems, and affirms that these experiences are not a reflection of personal shortcoming.
This particular session will focus on Sexual Health & PrEP Linkage, offering an educational overview of HIV prevention strategies, STI testing access, and how to begin or maintain PrEP care in the DMV. Participants will receive clear information about insurance coverage, patient assistance programs, confidential testing options, and navigating stigma within healthcare settings. The goal of this 101 session is to provide medically accurate, sex-positive, and shame-free guidance that empowers participants to make informed decisions about their sexual health at their own pace.
