The Sex Workers' Action Program Hamilton is hosting a sex worker film and arts festival in the lineage of Carol Leigh (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carol_Leigh), on Thursday, August 1, 6 to 9 PM at The Playhouse Cinema (177 Sherman Ave N, Hamilton, ON L8L 6M),
& Friday, August 2nd from 5 to 10 PM at The Westdale Theatre (1014 King St W, Hamilton, ON L8S 1L4).
The first day will show Working Girls (1986) by Lizzie Borden. We're attempting to have her Zoom in for a Q&A. There will also be panellist speakers at the end of each respective night;
The Westdale night will include performances and art on display., including two of the original marquis signs from the Lusty Lady - the world's first once-worker-owned and operated strip club, in San Francisco.
