About this Event
Learn the basics of sewing and working with textiles in this 4 Bootcamp. We have a nice complement of sewing machines including 3 brand new Janome machines. Learn more about all the goodies in the studio here on our Textiles web page.

- The maximum number of humans in the room for this class is 6 people at any time to adhere to safe occupancy limits. Please be sure to mind social distancing. All our workstations are more than 6 feet apart!
Timing and Location
This event is 4 hours with one break. We will be in the Textiles Studio located in Suite 206. Follow directory in the hallway.
What you will learn:
This 4-hour crash course in sewing covers basic sewing.
- Basic sewing machine parts
- Threading the machine
- Hands-on sewing practice
- Changing the needle
- Bobbin winding
- Stitch types for woven fabric
- Stitch types for knits (stretchy fabric)
- More hands-on sewing practice
- Sewing practice projects
- Troubleshooting
What to bring :
- Curiosity! And a mask.
What to wear :
- An approriate mask.
We have MASK sewing kits and supplies if you want to make yourself or folks in the community extra reusable masks!
