About this Event
Join us for an 3-day in-depth sewing class. In this class you'll review the basics of using a sewing machine, learn to use a sewing pattern for apparel construtction as well as adjusting a pattern for a custom fit, and lastly you'll learn how to use a variety of seam finishes to create a professional looking garment that is also sustainably made and durable. All materials will be provided by Public Thread, but if you have a blanket you'd like to recyle for this project you're welcome to bring that as well. Extensive sewing experience is not required for participation in this class, but some familiarity with a sewing machine is highly encouraged. Previous participants of Public Thread's Sewing 100 class are encouraged to participate in this class! Esme and Dani will guide you through constructing your blanket coat over 3 days.
We provide everything you need—just bring your passion for sewing and creativity! By the end of this class, you'll leave with a beautifully crafted, eco-friendly product made with waste diverteted materials from Public Thread.
