Sewcial Club - October

Come sew, create, and connect at Sewcial Club—a welcoming monthly gathering for adults who enjoy making things and want to learn something new. All skill levels are welcome, with extra instruction and support available for beginners. Each month features a fun, practical sewing project along with opportunities to learn new skills, share ideas, and enjoy a little time to recharge. Whether you're a complete beginner, you're dusting off your sewing machine, or have been sewing for years, there's a place for you at Sewcial Club!

Who: Adults interested in learning to sew, those who may want to refresh "old" sewing skills, or those who sew regularly and are looking for a sewing community.

What: We will be sewing baby burp cloths to donate to a local organization. It's a great opportunity to practice sewing curves, make fun connections with new friends, and do a little service. All you have to do is show up and we will have everything ready for you.

When: Thursday, October 13, 2026, 12:00pm-2:00pm

Where: USU Extension Office at the Washington County Legacy Park (county fairgrounds), 339 South 5500 West, Hurricane, UT

What to bring: Please bring a sewing machine, if you have one, and basic sewing notions (thread, scissors, pins, etc.). If you do not have a sewing machine and would like to use one of ours, please reach out to [email protected] or call 435-301-7740 to reserve a machine. (We have a limited supply, so we prefer that you bring your own machine if possible.)

How it works: We will provide basic sewing instructions, supplies for the project, and guidance on how to make it. We will walk you through the project from beginning to end. You are responsible for showing up, 'sew'cializing with good company, and learning a fun new project.

If you have questions, please contact the Utah State University Extension office in Washington County at 435-301-7740 or email [email protected].
