This hands-on sewing series is designed for kids who enjoy creating, working with their hands, or are beginning to take an interest in sustainability and eco-friendly habits. Each session focuses on a simple, practical project while introducing kids to the idea of reducing waste and reusing materials in everyday life.
Participants will be guided step-by-step through beginner sewing projects and will leave each class with something they made themselves. Projects are approachable, structured, and designed to build confidence while reinforcing foundational sewing skills.
Over the course of the series, students will create:
- A reusable tote bag
- A produce bag
- An upcycled pillow
- A utensil case
This series is ideal for beginners. No prior sewing experience is needed.
What they’ll learn:
- Basic sewing machine use and safety
- How to sew straight seams and finish edges
- How to construct simple, durable projects
- How sewing can be used to reduce everyday waste
Who should attend:
Kids who like to make things, enjoy creative activities, or are curious about sustainability and eco-conscious living.

All materials are provided. Participants may bring a water bottle and light jacket.
Additional Information:
This is a small-group workshop to allow for individual guidance. Each session builds on the last, but students can still participate if they are only able to attend one.
