Join us for an artistic and healing evening designed for the queer community and allies! Let’s come together for “Sew Queer”, a creative embroidery workshop where we’ll turn simple stitches into powerful reminders of self-care, healing, and strength. What to Expect:
Using basic embroidery techniques, you’ll have the chance to embellish a pillowcase (or another cotton item) with messages or imagery that bring positivity and restfulness to your life. Whether you're new to embroidery or already love it, this event is a space to create, connect, and care for yourself.
Embroidery is not only fun and easy to learn, but the repetitive motion of sewing can also be meditative and grounding. Together, we’ll transform simple items into meaningful works of art.
What to Bring:
A non-stretch cotton, linen, or polyester item to embroider (think pillowcases, tea towels, or tote bags!)
Optional: embroidery needles, needle threaders, washable fabric markers, or embroidery hoops (but don’t worry if you don’t have these).
What Sarah will Provide:
Embroidery thread, needles, chalk for design sketching, and extra embroidery hoops for use during the event.
Cotton kitchen towels available for $3 if you don’t have something to embroider.
Take-home embroidery thread to finish your project at no extra cost!
This event is for everyone—whether you’re here to stitch your way to healing or simply connect with community. Let’s craft something beautiful together!
