Yes, little old Sevenby7 hits the big "2-5"!!
We celebrate 25 years of "open-decks" action and our love of the mighty 45!!!
Since we started in the summer of 2001 we have rocked up at Bar Fly, Brown Street, Night & Day (Manchester), The Showroom, Halcyon Bar, The Forum, The Vine, Dulo, The Wick at Both Ends, The Casbah, The Interval Bar & SU Foundry, Bungalows & Bears, Magna (Warp Films 20th b'day bash), Picture House Social, The Dorothy Pax, The Gin Bar, Bar One, Neepsend Social, Sidney & Matilda and, soon, the Blake Hotel! (feel free to let us know about any places we've missed!)
We've had out fair share of famous faces - Andrew Weatherall, Richard Hawley, Philip Oakey, Luke Unabomber, Nick Banks, Shane Meadows & Vicky McClure to name but a few - but the whole ethos of Sevenby7 has always been to give "non-DJs" the opportunity to share some of their favourite records and this is very much what we're still about today!
We've not kept an exact count but we know we've had close to a thousand DJs play their fave 45s which is something we're really proud of and which probably can't be matched by any other DJ night in the UK.
Come along, on Saturday 5th September, and help us celebrate this little club night that has given hundreds of Sheffielders their first DJ opportunity!!
