Jeff Montalvo, who goes by the stage name Seven Lions, was inspired to produce trance music after being given an old Tiësto CD and attending a rave. He began his musical career in 2011 with the release of his unofficial remix of Florence and the Machine’s “Cosmic Love.” The DJ entered the Above & Beyond official remix competition, remixing the song “You Got to Go,” which won the competition and made it to the #2 spot on Beatport’s dubstep chart.

He released his first EP, Polarize, in 2012 to positive reviews. His song “Below Us” from the album was featured as Zane Lowe’s “Hottest Record in the World.” He has continued to release popular albums and standalone tracks, including his Days to Come EP which peaked at No. 10 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums chart.
