Seven Last Words

This March, Music at Co-Cath (MACC) presents Seven Last Words, a moving Lenten meditation featuring James MacMillan’s Seven Last Words from the Cross and Caroline Shaw’s To the Hands.

In the awe-inspiring setting of the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph, MacMillan’s searing portrayal of Christ’s final utterances gives way to Shaw’s tender, searching meditation on human suffering and compassion. Together, the works move from gripping drama to stillness, and ultimately, to the hope of healing.

All performances are free and open to the public with a suggested donation of $25.

Led by Artistic Director Alejandro Zuleta and Associate Director Cristina María Castro, Music at Co-Cath blends live music, storytelling, and theatrical design to create sacred concerts that feel immediate and alive.
