Sessions In Place Presents: Moon Palace, Jeannie Rak, and Chris LeVaughn

Join us live on Youtube or in-person June 30th at 7:30pm (6:30pm doors) for a hybrid session with Moon Palace, Jeannie Rak, and Chris LeVaughn at Emerald City Trapeze in Seattle, Washington. There will also be an intermission act of mesmerizing aerialists from Emerald City Trapeze. For an added bit of luxury, the in-person audience can witness what the camera’s capture through TV’s placed around the room. All of this can be enjoyed with a beverage of choice from the bar.

Moon Palace is a queer Seattle rock band led by identical twin sisters Cat Biell (guitar, vocals) and Carrie Biell (bass, vocals). The twins began writing songs together as teenagers, cultivating a musical bond made particularly significant as children of two Deaf parents. Joined by Jude Miqueli (drums) and Gabriel Molinaro (synth), the Biells write hook-driven, nature-inspired psychedelia with dreamy guitar discord and unique sibling harmonies.

The release of their self-titled debut in 2017 garnered accolades with music blogs, magazines, and radio stations locally and around the world. KEXP selected Shapeshifter, their "climactic cut...an ocean ripple slow cascading into a tsunami", as the KEXP Song of the Day. "Their music radiates a warmth, tranquility and closeness that arrives like a welcome embrace amid turbulent times and changing seasons", writes Jonathan Zwickel of City Arts Magazine. Moon Palace has shared stages with beloved NW artists like Thunderpussy, Y La Bamba, and Sera Cahoone.

Jeannie Rak is a full-time gigging musician who started out as a busker in Pike Place Market. With thousands of performance hours under her belt, her vocals are pitch-perfect, she has a huge range, and performs in an engaging and dynamic manner that draws in any crowd, be it a stage audience or patrons at a restaurant. She can match Adele's powerhouse vocals (no amps were allowed in Pike Place!), but also loves the quiet and intimate moments that really let the lyrics of a ballad shine.

Chris LeVaughn is a Soul-pop singer/songwriter and producer from Seattle, Washington. With a sound like coffee, he is often compared vocally to John Legend.

He produces and writes his own music fusing various music genres. LeVaughn has sung for Grammy-winning musicians and nominees such as Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, and Interscope records K. Flay.
