About this Event
Join us for Enoch Pratt Free Library’s FREE luncheon series, which offers patrons an afternoon of engaging conversations, performances, and activities. Pratt is excited to work in partnership with several community organizations to bring in a variety of dynamic presenters and performers, with rich academic and artistic backgrounds to lead these programs.
What’s on the menu:
Pratt is honored to begin our 2025 Luncheon Season with a dynamic presentation from Baltimore-based artist, storyteller, curator, and founding director of Sankofa Dance Theater, Kibibi Ajanku.
During this presentation, Kibibi will guide participants through her artistic journey and travels. Kibibi’s work embodies research, identity, and the gathering of elements of African retention, in hopes of evoking intuitive memories that reach back into ancestral histories and stories that impact the here and now. Her work strives to connect the deep divides of this nation using universal truths and rigorous dialogue in order to create a common language with which all can converge their realities.
Attendees will have the opportunity to view many of Kibibi’s works and how she features the importance of legacy and identity through indigo, mixed media collage, and soft sculpture.
After the lecture, participants will be invited to either participate in a facilitated activity or participate in our regular book discussion group led by Pratt Librarians from the Fiction Dept.
Lunch and all supplies will be provided.
