What’s on the menu:
For May’s luncheon, Pratt is excited to welcome our friends from the Natural History Society of Maryland for a journey through time and an exploration of Maryland’s geological history!
The Earth is 4.6 billion years old, and Maryland has a fascinating story to tell! Join representatives from the Natural History Society of Maryland on an incredible journey through geologic time. Discover how shifting tectonic plates have carried Maryland across the globe, shaping its landscapes and ecosystems over millions of years.
Marvel at towering mountains that once rivaled Everest, and explore the prehistoric creatures and plants that called Maryland home. Get hands-on with real fossils and rocks—some dating back billions of years! Then, put your skills to the test in a thrilling fossil hunt, where you'll dig through sand to uncover and identify ancient treasures.
Best of all, everyone takes home a fossil gift as a memento of this unforgettable adventure!
Don't miss this chance to step back in time and experience Maryland’s prehistoric past like never before!
After the presentation, participants will be invited to join us in a facilitated activity or participate in our regular book discussion group led by Pratt Librarians from the Fiction Dept.
Lunch will be provided.
Please contact Madelyn McCaully at [email protected] or 410-396-5494, if you have questions about registration or to request accommodations.
