Serpentine is a vocal ensemble based out of Bulbancha (New Orleans), Louisiana, United States. Through sound installation and the creation of activated space, Serpentine collaborates with spirit and with community to facilitate places for transformation and healing.
Their songs connect gates to wavering worlds, promote healing between humans and other beings, and address trauma, sexual and ecological assault through the embodied voice. Their intention is to restore connection between the sensual body and dreaming Earth. Ritual lamentation is a part of their interdisciplinary practice as well leading community in public expression of sorrow and release.
-
Zoé Basha is a musician, composer and carpenter.
She draws from her background as a traditional singer influenced and inspired by the multiple places in which she has resided, and thus the multiple cultures embedded in her sound today.
She will be joined by Erin Hennessey on Fiddle/ Voice and Anna Mullarkey on keys/ voice.
-
Julie Avalon is a multi instrumentalist and singer hailing from the West coast of Ireland. Her songwriting is a form of musical assemblage, a holding space for her exciting life experiences woven into song. She is honest, surreal and poetic and her distinctly ethereal voice lends itself to a hypnotic folk sound.
