Serpentina Film Festival 2025: Celebrating Latinidad Through Short Films

Minneapolis, MN — Serpentina Arts is proud to present the 2025 Serpentina Film Festival, an annual showcase highlighting the work of filmmakers based in Minnesota and Minnesota-based artists exploring themes of Latinidad. The festival will take place on Tuesday, November 25th, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM at The Parkway Theater, 4814 Chicago Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55417.

Attendees can look forward to an evening of short films spanning animation, experimental narratives, poignant documentaries, and innovative visual storytelling. This free public event welcomes all to celebrate the creativity, diversity, and cultural richness of Minnesota’s Latinx filmmaking community. While there is no cost to attend, a $5 donation is encouraged to support the festival.

• Opening Remarks + Program 1 (6:35 PM) Isabela Escalona, Rocky Casillas Aguirre, Tahiel Jimenez Medina, Mario and Nicolas Jaramillo

• Award Ceremony + Program 3 (8:35 PM) Jurors Drew Arrieta, Hedgiee, and Gabriel Antúnez de Mayolo Kou will present awards recognizing outstanding achievements in storytelling, artistry, and innovation.Sebastian Alfonzo, Brian Rivera, maya modelli, Victoria Aguado, Mario, Pablo Pérez (KALAKA) and Mikha "Mikhamik" Dominguez

Esteemed Jury Panel:

• Drew Arrieta – Documentary photographer and interdisciplinary visual artist, Minneapolis, MN
• Hedgiee – Multidisciplinary artist of Mixtec heritage, blending photography, illustration, poetry, and more
• Gabriel Antúnez de Mayolo Kou – Peruvian writer, vinyl collector, and academic with a Ph.D. in Hispanic Studies
