An open mic to celebrate how much we’ve grown. Each reader presents two poems in five minutes: a poem from high school, a poem from now-ish.
About this Event

Tulipwood invites thoughtful poets and friends to an open mic of high-school poetry...but not poetry by high school students—your own poems from your high school years, paired with your current work. The point? Have fun and celebrate how far we’ve come as writers. We’ve earned this!

Featuring: Erin Armstrong, Abby E. Murray, and Tulipwood editors.

Open mic slots are 5 minutes max. Two poems: one from early in your writing days, one from now-ish. Show us the depths of your writing life, and don’t take anything too seriously!

As usual, be respectful. No hate speech or cultural appropriation. Be mindful of language in every possible way. And if your poems interrogate trauma or violence, please include a content warning.

8/8, 7pm, Common Objects (2601 1st Ave, Seattle, WA 98121).
