Join Cyndi for a 10-month serging adventure as you explore creative quilting techniques using your serger! Whether you're looking to build skills, finish a sampler quilt, or simply try something new, this series is packed with hands-on practice, demonstrations, and inspiration.
Each session includes:
Demonstration of techniques
Sew & Tell time
Guided, hands-on practice
You can stay for just the morning or bring lunch and sew into the afternoon—this is a full-day workshop experience!
Machines Needed:
Overlock serger, coverstitch/chain machine, or a combo machine. If you only have an overlock, modifications can be made with a sewing machine for decorative stitching. You must be confident threading your machine.
Required Book: Bloom and Grow by Amanda Murphy (available for purchase at sign-up).
Class + Book Fee: $150; without book fee is $120 (if you already own the book).
Book includes fabric and thread suggestions for an optional sampler quilt. While written for BERNINA, all brands are welcome—Cyndi will provide adaptations for Baby Lock users.
Sample Techniques Include:
¼” seam allowance with 4-thread overlock or chainstitch
Bow Tie block with snowball corners
Jelly Roll piecing on serger
Decorative fabric with coverstitch + threads
Flying Geese, Tumblers, Wonky Log Cabin
Flatlock strip piecing for block creation
String piecing with decorative thread
Rolled hem applique & wide coverstitch trims
Supply lists for each session will be provided in advance. Come ready to stitch, learn, and grow your serger skills month by month!
