Marqueal Jordan
Marqueal Jordan is one of contemporary jazz’s most dynamic and versatile artists, seamlessly blending the artistry of an accomplished saxophonist with the soul of a powerful vocalist. Equally at home delivering soaring saxophone melodies or heartfelt vocal performances, Jordan has built a reputation as an electrifying entertainer whose music effortlessly bridges contemporary jazz, R&B, soul, funk, and pop.
Born in Los Angeles, raised in Kansas City, and now based in Chicago, Jordan developed his musical foundation through years of performing in one of America’s most vibrant music scenes. His versatility has made him an in-demand touring and session musician, composer, arranger, producer, and bandleader. For more than a decade, he toured internationally with acclaimed keyboardist Brian Culbertson, performing on stages around the world and contributing to multiple albums before launching his full-time solo career.
Jordan’s solo debut, Catalyst (2013), introduced audiences to his signature blend of smooth jazz and soulful grooves. He continued his artistic evolution with Intention & Purpose (2019), producing Billboard Smooth Jazz Top 20 singles including “If You Only Knew” and “The Edge.” His critically acclaimed third album, All We Have Are Moments (2022), elevated his profile even further, highlighted by the hit single “Sistas,” which climbed to No. 3 on the Billboard Smooth Jazz Airplay chart and became one of the format’s standout releases of the year.
Throughout his career, Marqueal has shared the stage with an impressive list of legendary artists Patti Austin, Jonathan Butler, George Duke, Candy Dulfer, Lalah Hathaway, David Sanborn, Jill Scott, Kirk Whalum, and many others, earning praise for both his commanding saxophone work and rich, expressive vocals.
