Spend an evening exploring the wonders of the night sky at the Virginia Living Museum!
Whether you’re a seasoned stargazer or simply curious about what shines above us, this monthly after-hours event offers something for every age. Begin your evening with a live planetarium presentation, then experience immersive laser light shows set to iconic music. After sunset, weather permitting, Museum staff and volunteers will have telescopes available for free observing, giving guests the opportunity to view celestial objects through the Museum’s telescopes.

6:00 PM – The Sky Tonight (Live Planetarium Show)
Discover what constellations, planets, and celestial events are visible in the September night sky.
7:00 PM – Laser Vinyl
8:30 PM – Laser Metallica
10:00 PM – Pink Floyd’s The Wall
Telescope Observing
Weather permitting, free telescope observing will begin after sunset. Viewing will take place in either the Abbitt Observatory or the Conservation Garden, depending on weather conditions.

Doors open at 5:00 PM
Telescope observing is free with event admission (weather permitting)
Laser show tickets are limited and recommended to reserve in advance.
The Museum will close at 11:30 PM.
