SEPTEMBER Morning Meeting
In September, WISH will welcome a presentation from Tawanda Bailey who is a dedicated public servant, community leader, and advocate for women and girls with more than 36 years of commitment to serving others. She currently serves as President of the Frederick County Commission for Women, where she works to expand opportunities, recognition, and support for women and girls through leadership, mentorship, advocacy, and community outreach.
Tawanda previously served eight years with the Maryland Commission for Women, including roles as Vice Chair and Chair, and continues to support initiatives that empower women throughout the community. She also serves on the African American of Excellence Committee and has contributed her time and leadership to organizations such as the Mental Health Association of Frederick County and other community-focused efforts.
A passionate volunteer and first responder, Tawanda has served with United Steam Fire Engine Company #3 for more than 10 years, currently serving as 1st Vice President and as an Emergency Medical Technician. She is also a small business owner, owning and operating Bailey Massage & Wellness, LLC.
Tawanda believes in the power of service, leadership development, and creating pathways for the next generation of women leaders. Outside of her community work, she enjoys spending time with her husband of 26 years, her adult children, and her seven grandchildren.
