Lynda DeGrow Kingsley
Lynda DeGrow Kingsley is an artist whose inspiration and subject matter begins in her own yard full of perennials, greenery and rusted objects in the Historic District of McKinney. She enjoys using watercolor in different and exciting ways incorporating watercolor batik, 3-D watercolor collages and organic abstracts. Lynda started the International Facebook group Watercolor Unleashed, where using other media along with watercolor is lauded!
She graduated with a BFA in studio art with an emphasis in watercolor from the University of North Texas in 2014. Since that time, she has received significant recognition for her work, including several “People’s Choice” and “Best of Show” awards in prestigious shows. She has been the featured artist in several shows in McKinney, TX and the Haley-Henman Gallery and North Haven Gardens Gallery in Dallas. Currently, she shows her work exclusively at LAST Art Gallery, in Historic downtown McKinney, where she is Vice President on the Board.
She has a large studio space at her home where she paints and teaches class. She attained President and V.President positions of The Art Club of McKinney, the oldest art club in Texas during the 2014-2017 years. She resides with her husband, Dr. M. Scott Kingsley, a professor at Southern Methodist University and their rescued Basset Hound and cat and enjoys her three adult children who live in the metroplex.
