September 2026 HSA Convening
About this Event
What does housing cost burden really mean for people in Kent County?
For some, it means putting off homeownership. For others, it means choosing between a needed home repair and other household expenses. And for older Gen Z and younger Millennials, it can mean navigating a housing market where becoming a homeowner feels increasingly out of reach.
At the Housing Stability Alliance’s September Convening, we’re bringing these experiences to the forefront and exploring what they mean for our community—and what we can do about them.
Join us to hear from subject matter experts about:
- 🏠 Homeownership & housing maintenance: What we’re seeing among homeowners struggling to keep up with repairs and maintenance.
- 🔑 The next generation of homeowners: How older Gen Z and younger Millennials are navigating homeownership goals.
- 🌡️ Housing & health: How maintaining a safe, healthy home is becoming more challenging in the current climate.
- 💡 Innovative solutions: How we can achieve greater impact through strategic investments and limited resources.
We’ll also share important updates on work already underway across the Housing Stability Alliance, including:
- HUD Funding Scenario Planning Work and Michigan Children and Families Summit Work.
- HSA Legislative Policy Agenda - Permanent Supportive Housing.
- Predictive Analytics Model + Student Eviction Prevention Pilot
This convening is an opportunity to learn, connect, and help shape what comes next for housing stability in Kent County.
