The African American Heritage Society of Williamson County will host its’ monthly ‘Porch Talk” on Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, at 6:00 p.m at the Williamson County Public Library, 1314 Columbia Ave. in Franklin. With the “Porch Talks” series, professionals of all backgrounds, representatives of historic preservation and interpretation of African American history and culture as well as members of the community are invited to share their knowledge, expertise and their stories and experiences with attendees.
The organization is pleased and honored to have Dr. Learotha Williams, Jr., Professor of African American History at Tennessee State University as guest speaker for the monthly event, with the topic, “Revolutionary Crossings: Revisiting African Americans’ Transition from Enslaved to Freedpersons in Middle TN.”
