For the September CleanUp we will be joining the Forest Preserve District of Kane County for their “It’s Our Fox River Day” cleanup!
The cleanup will be at Glenwood Park Forest Preserve in Batavia. The preserve entrance is just south of Funway in Batavia. Google Maps does not take you to the entrance, but it's there on the West side of the road.
“It's Our Fox River Day” is an annual watershed-wide event to celebrate, protect and restore the health of the Fox River. Volunteers participate in cleanups and events the full length of the river from Colgate, Wisconsin down to Ottawa, Illinois.
Bring bug spray, sunscreen, rain boots or old shoes that can get muddy and/or wet, clothes that can get dirty and work gloves/garden gloves. Long pants are encouraged to protect against bugs and possible poison ivy.
Garbage buckets, snacks and water will be provided.
Bring the whole family!
