Sensory Safari Camp

Welcome to the Sensory Safari Camp at OT Park!

Our Sensory Safari Camp is a unique and exciting program designed to engage and stimulate all eight senses in a fun and supportive environment. We believe in the importance of sensory integration and its positive impact on a child's development and overall well-being.

During the Sensory Safari Camp, we will explore and celebrate all eight senses: sight, hearing, taste, smell, touch, proprioception (body awareness), vestibular (balance and movement), and interoception (internal sensations). Our camp activities have been carefully crafted to provide a rich sensory experience that promotes learning, self-regulation, and social interaction.

Here's what your child can expect at our Sensory Safari Camp:

1. Sensory Stations: We have set up various sensory stations where campers can engage in hands-on activities that target different senses. From visual art projects and sound exploration to taste testing and scent identification, each station offers a unique and interactive experience.

2. Movement and Gross Motor Activities: Our campers will have the opportunity to engage in dynamic movement activities that promote balance, coordination, and body awareness. These activities may include obstacle courses, group games, and outdoor play.

3. Calming and Relaxation Techniques: We understand the importance of providing a balanced sensory experience. Throughout the camp, we will introduce calming and relaxation techniques to help children unwind and regulate their sensory systems. This may include deep breathing exercises, mindfulness activities, and sensory-friendly spaces for quiet time.

4. Social Interaction and Peer Support: Our camp environment is designed to foster social interaction and peer support. Campers will have opportunities to engage in cooperative games, group projects, and team-building activities. Our experienced camp staff will encourage positive social interactions and create a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.

5. Qualified and Experienced Staff: Our camp is led by a team of licensed occupational therapist and trained occupational therapy students who specialize in sensory integration. They bring their expertise and passion for working with children to ensure a safe and enriching camp experience for all participants.
