Understanding, supporting and improving sensory processing difficulties for parents and professionals, with Jo Harries in Aberdare.
About this Event

So many children have difficulties with their sensory processing, but not enough is known about how to help them - until now!

We are excited to bring a very empowering workshop to Aberdare, ensuring parents and professionals know more about Sensory Processing Difficulties and how to help children who struggle.

We are here to de-bunk the myths and set the record straight in our workshop dedicated to Occupational Therapy, Sensory Integrations and Sensory Processing Difficulties.

This workshop, 2 hours in length, is designed for parents and professionals alike. We aim to cover:

  • Discover OTs Role in your child’s sensory development and daily engagement.
  • Understand Sensory Processing: Learn how sensory systems influence behaviour and learning.
  • Identify Sensory Challenges and the signs to look for in your child.
  • Personalise Sensory Support with tailored sensory diets and activities.
  • Empower Sensory Regulation at home and school with simple, effective strategies.
  • Boost Development Through Play: Harness play to support sensory needs.
  • Build Routines for consistency and calm, making sensory activities a natural part of everyday life.
  • Access Resources and tools to support you and your child on this journey.
  • Ask Questions, Share, and Connect with other parents facing similar challenges.

The workshop is ticketed, you must have a ticket in order to attend. Advance booking is required.

Refreshments and snacks will be available. Accessible parking is available on site. Standard parking is available on the road outside Cynon Linc for 2 hours or you can park at Aberdare Library (please adhere to ticketing rules within the carpark).
