Sunday, March 1
Sunday, April 12
9:30-11:30 a.m.
The DNR Outdoor Adventure Center welcomes friends and families with sensory processing differences to our sensory-friendly building hours!
Enjoy the opportunity to explore and experience the OAC with building sounds and ambient noises at a lower volume. During your visit there will be a quiet room with sensory materials available to use. At noon the building will open to the public, with volumes returning to standard operating levels. All staff are KultureCity-certified to ensure the best possible experience.
Sunday, January 4
Come dressed to play in the snow! We have fun snow activities planned for outside. Inside, we will learn to match animals to their tracks.
Sunday, February 1
We LOVE what we have planned for February. Make a Valentine’s Day craft and play Cupid with magnetic archery!
Sunday, March 1
Discover the story of Paul Bunyan, legendary lumberman of the north woods! We’ll enjoy a story hour, learn about Michigan’s forest animals, and make and take home a special lumberjack craft.
Sunday, April 12
Grow your appreciation for the outdoors at the OAC Farm and Garden Expo’s Sensory-Friendly Hours. Our archery range will be transformed into a “barn” and you will be able to get up close with some of our farm animal friends!
