About this Event

SENSITIVE

A monthly dance and co-regulation space for Highly Sensitive People. At Jacksons’ Lane Arts Center (Studio 1).

This event is a conscious dance and co-regulation space for Highly Sensitive People. (Or people who simply need a gentle space right now.)

It is a space to resource our bodies through nourishing dance, movement, music and optional, consensual physical connection.

Approximately 20% of the population has a highly sensitive nervous system. Meaning that sensory input, like groups with loud activating music, can often be too overwhelming and dysregulating for them.

This event aims to cater for the needs of sensitive people. So that group connection and dancing can feel good, resourcing and nourishing.

This is a space where all of your needs around your sensitivity - whether sensory, physical or energetic - are understood and welcome.

This event restores our body’s Yin energy, in contrast to the city’s Yang.

It is held in the beautiful and large main event space (studio 1), at Jackson’s Lane Arts’ Center, with a maximum of 30 participants to ensure lots of space for movement.

What to expect from this event:

  • 30 mins of facilitated space at the beginning of the event that drop the group into group regulation and cohesion.
  • Two hours of open, self-led dance and co-regulation space.
  • Different ‘zones’ where you can explore different forms of movement and connection, including solo dance, partnered dance, physical co-regulation, space to be alone - all within your consent and moment-to-moment choice.
  • An emergent space that works with what is currently alive in the room and between participants.
  • A nervous system and trauma informed space.
  • A closing circle to land and speak anything that needs to be spoken.
  • A restorative, yin space.

  • People with neurodivergence.
  • People who need a gentle space to resource right now.
  • Anybody age 18+, of any race, gender & physical ability. If you have a physical disability, you are very welcome and the venue is fully accessible. Please do let us know beforehand if we can support you with any needs. Just email [email protected]
  • People who love, or want to explore, conscious movement and dance.
  • People who want to strengthen their ability to listen to their body, their needs, their boundaries and their self-leadership.
  • People how are often overstimulated by life.
  • People who struggle to resource outside of their own homes and with company.
  • People who want to surrender to an emergent group experience.

  • Anybody who is curious and has an intuitive pull to this event.

Who is this event not for?

  • People who want to dance to loud, stimulating, cathartic music.
  • People who cannot make the start time of 11am. This event requires everybody to be there at the start to create the container and agreements together. Nobody will be admitted to the event past 11am.
  • People who may attend the event primarily with the hope to find a romantic/sexual connection. This primary intention can bring an energetic into the space that does not support a group emergent experience, and can also feel unsafe to people with a highly sensitive nervous system who sense these dynamics.

If you have any questions about this space, and whether it is for you or not, please do not hesitate to reach out to the facilitator at [email protected].

This event is capped at 30 participants. You can pre-buy tickets online, or take a chance on the door.

Ticket price: £30 in advance, £32 on the door.

FULL REFUNDS AVAILABLE UP TO A WEEK BEFORE THE EVENT. AFTER THIS NO REFUNDS ARE POSSIBLE, AS THE FINAL COSTS OF THE EVENT ARE BASED ON THESE NUMBERS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.

About the facilitator:

NICOLA CROSS

Nicola Cross is a group facilitator, who specialises in emergent group spaces and nervous system attunement - allowing whatever is most alive and truthful in a space to be felt and expressed. She also went on to train deeply in Heart IQ emergent circle and intimacy work with Christian Pankhurst. Nicola creates events that merge embodiment with intimacy and shamanism/magick. (She hopes that this event might also grow to include emergent circle work that meets personal and interpersonal dynamics alive in the room.) Nicola holds trainings in Transpersonal Psychology and Integrative Arts Psychotherapy. You can find more about her work, events and 1:1 coaching at magickembodied.com.

About the DJ:

FELIX ORAM (Tenamos Dance Collective Founder)

Felix Oram creates music-led movement spaces where attention, embodiment, and dance are held with care. He is a conscious movement facilitator, DJ (FX10K), and founder of the Temenos Dance Collective.

Felix’s facilitation is grounded, spacious, and responsive. Drawing from meditation, somatic practice, and decades of musical experience, he holds containers that invite dancers to arrive fully, track their own experience, and engage with others without force or performance.

Through Temenos, Felix offers spaces that are alive and relational — places to listen closely, move honestly, and let the body lead.
