SENKWAVES FESTDIE SELEKTION (Stuttgart, DE)

Nagyjából egy évvel a tavaly októberi (első) SenkWaves Night után visszatérünk a következő felvonással, de utolsó dobásként egyúttal szintet is lépünk, egy négyzenekaros, "all headliners” (mini)fesztivállal kényeztetjük el az erre fogékonyakat.
Az est fellépői az általunk képviselt stílusok elektronikus feléből kerültek ki: a minimal synth/minimal wave, a darkwave, a coldwave, és ezek EBM-mel fuzionáló oldalága ("wave body music”) a fő csapásirány. Egy kivételével mindegyikőjüket először láthatjuk Magyarországon.

Die Selektion
A tavaly őszi lehengerlő aurórás koncert után a stuttgarti Die Selektion ismét Budapestre látogat, hogy ezúttal egy nagyobb rendezvényen, nagyobb közönség előtt mutathassa be trombitával kísért fergeteges Prosecco Wave/EBM műsorát. Legutóbbi lemezük, a 2023 szeptemberében megjelent Zeuge aus Licht a tavalyi év egyik legjobb kiadványa volt, amit nagy sikerrel vittek színpadra a nagyvilágban az elmúlt egy évben. Intenzív "világ körüli” (európai és észak-amerikai) turnéjuk zárásaként nálunk is felszántják a színpadot karizmatikus előadásukkal és megtáncoltatják a közönséget ellenállhatatlan zenéjükkel.

NNHMN
A berlini NNHMN hosszú évek munkájával, remekebbnél remekebb kiadványokkal és magával ragadó koncertekkel a sötét elektronikus underground egyik meghatározó zenekarává nőtte ki magát. A helyenként industrial technóba hajló mágikus minimal synth/darkwave/dark disco/EBM ötvözet, amit lemezen és élőben is tökéletes minőségben nyújtani tudnak, a koncertszínpadok és a fesztiválok kedvenceivé tette őket, minden egyes alkalommal bebizonyítva, hogy nem érdemtelenül. Fokozatosan növekvő rajongói bázisuknak sosem okoznak csalódást, az önfeledt tánc és révület mindig garantált.

Position Parallèle
A párizsi Position Parallèle a francia elektronikus coldwave/minimal synth új hullámának egyik legjelentősebb, úttörő zenekara. A 2008-as első lemezük óta megbízható minőségben szállítják a jobbnál jobb kiadványokat, ritkaságszámba menő koncertjeiken a hűvös francia elegancia és érzékiség letaglózó elegye süt a színpadról. Bár nincsenek benne annyira a köztudatban, mint egyes (később indult) társaik, hatásuk és jelentőségük megkérdőjelezhetetlen, többek között ránk nézve is, nagy szerepet játszottak a SenkWaves létrejöttében, érdeklődésünk ezen irányba terelődésében.

Sydney Valette
A szintén párizsi Sydney Valette is a francia sötét elektronikus underground új hullámának veteránjai közé tartozik, már 2011 óta jelentet meg lemezeket, de a kezdeti, nyersebb hangzásvilágú kiadványok után az igazi áttörést a 2018-as Fight Back és (még inkább) a 2019-es How Many Lives? LP-k hozták el a számára, erőteljesen dinamikus fellépései, magával ragadó színpadi előadásai pedig a stílus élvonalába emelték az évek folyamán. Zenéjében magabiztosan keveri és olvasztja eggyé a minimal synth, a darkwave, a synthpunk, az EBM és a szintipop stílusjegyeit, karakteres, azonnal felismerhető énekével megkoronázva, egyedivé téve a végeredményt. Kihagyhatatlan élmény, minden szinten.

Roughly a year after last October's (first) SenkWaves Night, we are returning levelled up: with a four-band, "all headliners" (mini)festival, to spoil you once more. The event’s performers come from the electronic side of the styles we represent: minimal synth/minimal wave, darkwave, coldwave, and their EBM-infused side branch ("wave body music"). This evening marks the Hungarian debut for all but one of them.

Die Selektion
Following last autumn's overwhelming concert in Auróra, Stuttgart's Die Selektion returns to Budapest, this time to present their frenzied Prosecco Wave/EBM show accompanied by trumpets at a bigger event, in front of a larger audience. Their latest record, Zeuge aus Licht, released in September 2023, was one of the best releases of last year, and was performed with great success around the world in the past year. As the final stop of their intense "world" (European and North American) tour, they will also be wrecking the stage here with their charismatic performance, and making the audience dance with their irresistible music.

Through many years of hard work, excellent releases and captivating concerts, Berlin-based NNHMN has grown into one of the defining bands of the dark electronic underground scene. Their magical combination of minimal synth/darkwave/dark disco/EBM, and at times even hints of industrial techno, delivered flawlessly both on records and performed live, has made them favourites of concert stages and festivals, proving every single time that it’s not undeserved. They never disappoint their gradually growing fan base, self-indulgent dancing and frenzy are always inevitable.

Position Parallèle
Paris-based Position Parallèle is one of the most significant, pioneering bands of the new wave of French electronic coldwave/minimal synth music. Since their first album released in 2008 they have been delivering top-notch releases, in reliable quality, and on the rare occasion of a concert, an overwhelming mixture of cool French elegance and sensuality radiates from the stage. They may not be as well-known as some other acts that started later, but their influence and importance are unquestionable – also for us: they played a significant role in the creation of SenkWaves by channeling our interest towards this direction.

Sydney Valette
Sydney Valette, another Parisian, is also a veteran of the new wave of the French dark electronic underground, he has been releasing music since 2011. After his rawer-sounding earlier albums, the real breakthrough came with the LPs Fight Back (2018), and, even more so, with How Many Lives? (2019), and his powerfully dynamic performances and captivating stage persona have pushed him to the forefront of the style. His music confidently mixes and fuses the styles of minimal synth, darkwave, synthpunk, EBM and synthpop, and crowned with his characteristic, instantly recognizable vocals, the end result becomes unmistakable. An experience you do not want to miss.
