About this Event

In recent years, extreme heat events have become more frequent across Metro Vancouver, creating serious challenges for the health, comfort, and safety of residents, particularly seniors. This event brings together seniors, community members, practitioners, policymakers, and researchers to better understand these challenges and explore practical, community-driven solutions.

The morning will begin with registration and breakfast, followed by opening remarks and an overview of the event. Participants will then take part in a series of interactive sessions featuring hands-on activities, demonstrations, and small-group discussions focused on aging and extreme heat. These sessions are designed to create space to reflect, share perspectives, and learn from one another through guided activities led by researchers and community organizations.

The event will conclude with a theather show exploring experiences of heat and aging. Attendees are then welcome to stay for lunch and continue conversations with fellow participants, community partners, and researchers.
