14:00 – Keynote: Philanthropy in the visual field
Exploring global trends in philanthropy and their connection to the Norwegian arts scene, May Calil draws on her extensive international experience, discussing how institutions can build stronger ties with the business sector.
May Calil is co-founder of MarksCalil, a strategic advisory firm for museums and art organisations. A highly respected strategist, she has worked on development projects for major museums including Tate and the Royal Academy, and led Cromwell Place from concept to launch. She currently serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees at Chisenhale Gallery.
14:45 – In Conversation: Is Norway Next? May Calil and Miriam Wistreich discuss experiences from the UK, Denmark and the Netherlands, where public infrastructure for art is disappearing. How should the Norwegian art field respond to these changes?
