High-pressure condition plays an important role in discovering novel materials, modulating properties and unraveling extreme-state physics. In the field of superconducting research, significant advances have been made in both conventional and unconventional superconductors, as exemplified by the recent discovery of La3Ni2O7 under high pressure. Motivated by the metallization of hydrogen and subsequent discoveries of H3S (Tc=203 K at 155 GPa) and LaH10 (Tc=250 K at 170 GPa), numerous high-Tc polyhydrides have been predicted and synthesized. This talk will provide a partial review of experimental progress on high-pressure superconducting hydrides, briefly introduce the speaker’s prior work, and discuss applications of NV centers and point contact spectroscopy (PCS) for high pressure research.
