About this Event

A live, interactive talk with Lori Mage

Have you ever known exactly what you wanted to do — maybe even known what would be really good for you — and still watched yourself do something completely different?

You procrastinate.
Avoid the conversation.
Overthink the decision.
Stay busy doing things that matter less.
Reach for your phone, food, work, Netflix, or whatever helps you check out for a little while.

Maybe you make real progress toward something you want… and then somehow find yourself getting in your own way again.

It can be maddening.

Especially when you’re smart, capable, self-aware, and absolutely know better.

So why do we do it?

Why is knowing what to do sometimes not enough to actually do it?

And what can we do differently when we catch ourselves in the pattern?

That’s what we’re going to explore together.

What we’ll get into

Self-sabotage is more than bad habits or a lack of discipline. There are reasons we repeat behaviors that don’t seem to make much sense on the surface.

During this live, interactive talk, we’ll explore:

  • Why we get in our own way even when we know better
  • What may be happening underneath procrastination, avoidance, overthinking, numbing, and other familiar patterns
  • How to recognize your own patterns sooner
  • Why some patterns can be so hard to change
  • Practical ways to interrupt them and choose a different response

You’ll also have some space to reflect on your own patterns along the way.

Because the point isn’t simply to understand why you procrastinate, avoid, overthink, or check out.

It’s to have more choice in the moments that shape the life you’re trying to build.

My hope is that you leave understanding yourself a little better, with more compassion for why you do some of the things you do, and with something practical you can actually use the next time you catch yourself getting in your own way.

There may even be a few:

“Ohhhhh. THAT’S what I’m doing.”

moments.

Those are my favorite. 😊

This might be for you if…

This is especially for people who care about growth, know themselves pretty well, and still sometimes find themselves doing things that work against what they genuinely want.

Maybe there’s something you want more of in your health, relationships, work, leadership, business, or life…

…but your own behavior occasionally seems to have other plans. 😂

Maybe you’re in a season of growth or change.

Maybe you know there’s a conversation, decision, habit, goal, or next step you’ve been avoiding.

Or maybe you’re simply curious about yourself and want to better understand why you do some of the things you do.

You don’t need to have anything figured out before you come.

Just bring yourself.

And a little curiosity.
