Self-Harm Awareness Training for Youth Practitioners

This programme is open to all third sector staff and volunteers supporting young people.

By attending, you will gain the knowledge and tools necessary to effectively support your team and the young people you work with, fostering a more compassionate, understanding, and safe environment for those dealing with self-harm.

Deepen your understanding of self-harming behaviors:

Gain insights into the underlying causes and motivations behind self-harm, helping you better understand and support those who engage in it.

Explore and debunk common myths surrounding self-harm:

Examine the misconceptions and stigmas associated with self-harm, and learn how to address these issues effectively.

Learn effective strategies to support young people who self-harm:

Discover practical approaches and responses that can provide meaningful support to young people struggling with self-harm.

Reflect on the emotional impact of self-harm on professionals and enhance self-care:

Consider the challenging emotions that self-harm may evoke in you as a professional, and learn how to maintain your own well-being while supporting others.
