About this Event
Too often the demands of this world have us rushing from thing to thing - all while carrying the responsibilities of our personal lives, our families, our work, and on top of that the intensity of climate and political changes. Each of these burdens can take an emotional toll on us - and even when we don't give those emotions the conscious space to be processed and released, our bodies feel the impact.
In this group we'll give our emotional and physical bodies the gift of slowness and attention - making space for the symphony of emotions that are waiting beneath the surface to be felt and acknowledged, and using simple self-touch tools to balance them.
Together we'll practice using finger holds and applying pressure to specific points on the hands and feet to balance and release intense emotions like rage, sorrow, fear, and anxiety. We'll accompany the physical practices with breathing techniques, visualizations, and the support of herbal teas.
While these acupressure practices come to us directly from Traditional Chinese Medicine, we acknowledge that elements of acupressure and self-touch for self soothing exist in the land-based roots of all cultures - many of us instinctively practice them without conscious awareness of how these points map onto our body systems! This is a space of mutual learning, where everyone is invited to share tools and practices for balancing emotions from your traditions.
Come take a load off, and get equipped in simple tools to weave into your everyday self-care practices!
