Seekonk River Project
About this Event
Climate Ready Together: Seekonk River Project is a community-learning program for people who live near or spend time along the Seekonk River in Providence. From November 2026 through April 2027, participants will meet about once a month to learn about climate risks, share what they know about the river, and help shape future resilience priorities.
The program will include four small cohorts of about 20 people each. November, March, and April meetings will be in person. December through February sessions will be held on Zoom. Participants will map places they use and care about, learn about flooding and sea-level rise, explore nature-based solutions, visit the river, and review project ideas.
No climate or science background is needed. We welcome people who connect with the river through walking, rowing, parks, fishing, school, work, worship, or simply enjoying the shoreline. The project area extends from Collier Point Park north to the Pawtucket line.
Meeting dates, times, and locations to be announced.
