“The Warming Wall is entering its third year and continues to be a resource to individuals and families,” said Executive Director Jerry Coleman. “This effort would not exist without donations from the community. Throughout the winter, we often see individuals and groups of people stop to hang donated items on the wall. We are grateful to everyone who has contributed to its success.”
The Warming Wall was introduced in 2022 by staff from the Division of Child Support as a community collaboration. Those who need an item may take it, and those who have an item to give may hang it. All items are donated.
“It’s been inspiring to watch the Warming Wall grow and evolve each year,” said Deputy Director of Child Support Ann Durkin. “We have noticed more businesses and organizations becoming involved by organizing donation drives and other activities, which has been incredible. This year we will be recognizing donors on social media. If you plan to donate, please let us know so we can thank you.”
Residents can contribute to the Warming Wall now by dropping items off in the lobby of Stark County Job & Family Services during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Starting in December through February, donations can be hung directly on the fence. Please ensure all items are placed individually in sealed plastic bags to protect them from rain and snow.
We would like to acknowledge those who donate to the wall on social media! Please let us know by calling 330-451-8141 or send a photo to [email protected].
